We also jump into our hands-off thoughts on the game's traversal and discuss why we hope it will be one of the highlights of our experience.įinally, we wrap up this fun 10-minute look at the game with our closing thoughts on Square Enix's next action RPG, and what we're thinking of our time seeing the game ahead of its October 11 release date for PlayStation 5 and PC. Just like our previous coverage, protagonist Frey Holland's powers are on full display, showing off her vast array of spells she can wield and all the gorgeous particle effects to compliment them. The three of them kick things off with a look at an area of the game that has been ravaged by The Break, a storm that's causing inhabitants of Athia to mutate into fantastical and disturbing creatures. Forspoken, prcdemment connu sous le nom de Project Athia, est un jeu. It stars Frey, a young woman in modern-day New York who finds herself transported to Athia, a land of magic and danger. Forspoken sur PC : retrouvez toutes les informations, les tests, les vidos et actualits du jeu sur tous ses supports. Of people I’ve heard from, Patrick Klepek of Waypoint doesn’t have a code, YouTuber SkillUp doesn’t have one.Join Alex Stadnik as he assembles the dream team to go into the nitty-gritty of Forspoken with industry powerhouses Kim Wallace and Jill Grodt. Forspoken is set to release for PS5 and PC on January 24. Forspoken is visually stimulating and a musical delight, but boring combat, poor characterization, and loose movement mechanics make for a mediocre experience. She's also landed in the middle of a serious conflict, where one side seems not to trust her, and another definitely does not. This means that we will not get to see whether these wild recommended PC specs will lead to a poorly optimized game until after launch, so I would absolutely hold off picking up a copy on that platform until any potential issues are known.Īnd of the review copies that have gone out, it’s clear Square Enix is playing the industry’s little “limited code quantities” game where they try to say there are only a certain number of (unlimited digital) codes they can give out, which really means they are just steering away from certain outlets. The narrative, protagonist Frey Holland, a New Yorker, ends up in Athia, possessed of awesome supernatural powers, and not sure why or what to do about either. Some codes had gone out, and yet I’ve learned more that still makes whatever is going on with reviews somewhat weird.įrom what I can tell, there are no PC codes of the game out for review. Update (1/20): My first draft of this piece originally said that review codes had not gone out for Forspoken yet, which was a third red flag, but I subsequently learned that wasn’t the case. I guess we’ll find out in less than a week. Today, were showing off exclusive 4K gameplay featuring the baddies that would halt protagonist Frey Holland from accomplishing her goal of saving Athia. Get an in-depth look at the adventure that awaits you in the world of Athia. ![]() We have one last 4K episode of New Gameplay Today with developer Luminous Productions exciting followup to Final Fantasy XV, including even more exclusive looks at the game. But were not going quietly into that good night. Some of the later trailers convinced me maybe Forspoken would turn out okay (once they shed the goofy voiceovers), but there’s too much weirdness going on here to feel like this launch is going to go well and the game is going to launch in the state it should be in. In that way, Forspoken has a lot to live up to, and Developer Luminous Productions follow-up to Final Fantasy XV is attempting to do just that. After weeks of Forspoken fun, the video portion of our coverage is coming to an end.
